Broke the record for the longest match of US Open 3.09.2011

The record for the longest women's match of the Open tennis tournament was broken today. This happened during the match between Australian Samantha Stousar and Russia's Nadia Petrova. Stousar won 7-6 (5), 6-7 (5) and 7-5.

The match last 3 hours and 16 minutes - a record in the ladies tournament since the system was introduced tie - in 1970.

As is known, the U.S. Open is the only tournament of the "Grand Slam" in which the crucial final set (the third in women and fifth for men) do not play two consecutive games after a 6:6 win and a tie-break again.
