Seeded ninth in the overall scheme Jurgen Melzer (Austria) and Philippe Petsshner (Germany) won the doubles title of the men the U.S. Open tennis.
In the final they defeated sixth in the scheme and Mariusz Firstenberg Matkovski Marcian (Poland) 6-2, 6-2. The meeting lasted only 48 minutes, and the winners made five breaks.
Meltzer and Petsshner will receive 420,000 dollars in prize money. This was the first title for the couple from the U.S. Open, but second in the Grand Slam after "Wimbledon" in 2010.
