Genoa confirmed - De Canio will be coach 2.07.2012

Genoa announced Luigi De Canio for head coach of the team after Alberto Malezani was fired for the second time this season.

"De Canio is the new coach of Genoa," said the president Enrico PREZIOSI for Radio Anch'io lo Sport. "He will lead the team today."

PREZIOSI changed again the mentor of the team after last night's dramatic events at the loss from Siena with 1:4. Malezani led Genoa only 20 days after he was fired in December, then returned to replace Pasquale Marino.

De Canio, who left Lecce last summer, returns to Genoa for the last five games of the season after being Coach of Genoese in the season 2003/2004 in Serie B.

He will debut on the bench of Genoa again on Wednesday when they're visiting Milan.
