Barcelona defender Gerard Pique denied the publications in the media that is in conflict with coach Josep Guardiola. The defender said that probably sport reasons are behind the decision of Guardiola to leave him on the bench for the last two games of the team.
Pique did not appear in the game in the first leg of Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals, which the Spaniards lost with 0:1 and was reserve in the big derby of Spain against Real Madrid on Saturday.
Barcelona are hosts of Chelsea today is in a meeting- rematch from the semifinals of the Champions League and Pique hopes to be in the starting 11 for the Spanish champions.
"This is a new situation for me because I used to play constantly, and in the last two games it didn't happen. This is a decision of the coach. Only he choose who can plays and who doesn't" said Pique during a press conference yesteday.
According to Spanish media Guardiola doesn't approve the publicity of Pique, who has a relationship with singer Shakira and asked the management of the team to sell the defender at the end of the season.
"Guardiola and I arrived in Barcelona the same year and we are part of a strong era for the team. I really trust him and respect him very much. I think Guardiola will stay at the club because he love it. Our relationship are excellent" added Pique.
