Ireland wants to return to the national 3.07.2012

Aston Villa midfielder Stephen Ireland has confirmed that he wants to return to the Ireland national team, which he left some time ago.

In September 2007, Ireland said that he will no longer plays for the national team of his country after he was removed from the group of teams for match of European qualifications.

"In the past few months I told to everyone who asked me, that I may be called if I am needed to the team. I am already grown up, married man, very different from the time when I ended my career in the national team. They haven't call me, I wish all the best for the team, but if they call back I will considering very seriously this option" said Stephen Ireland.
