The former Villa star: I'm still not ready to lead team

4.07.2012

Former Aston Villa captain Martin Laursen said that he did not feel ready to be manager of the club although to direct the club is his dream for a long time.

Laursen has been forced to end his career three years ago because of a knee injury. After the dismissal of Alex McLeish as a mentor of the team immediately comes up a speculation that the former AC Milan player will lead the team. Currently Laursen is part of the coaching staff of the Danish-Solerod Vedbek but he does not intend to occupy the leading position in Aston Villa.

"These rumors flatters me, but Villa came too early as an opportunity to me" said the former Danish international. "I'm currently studying in Denmark where I want to gain experience in the profession. The fans know how much I love Villa, this is a great club" added Laursen.
