Trapattoni: We dropped out because we were afraid

6.07.2012

The breederof Ireland Giovanni Trapattoni believes that his team has dropped out of Euro 2012 because he was afraid and has played under pressure. Last night the Irish suffered a heavy defeat with 0:4 of the current European champions Spain and became the first team, who is leaving the tournament.

"We made many mistakes because we played scared and under pressure, and therefore we won't go forward," said Trapattoni after the match against "la fury." "We want an explanation from the boys how it is possible in two consecutive matches to allow a goal in the first three or four minutes."

"Something has changed since the end of the qualification cycle till now. We can see the burden that falls on our shoulders. This is something new for me, I've never noticed any of the training and I'm saddened" added the 73-year-old Italian.

"Mistakes that we made, means that we are in psychological crisis. I have never noticed any fear during our preparation for the tournament. If Italy wants to play at 1/4-final this depends entirely on game of the team and the desire to move forward. We will fulfill our duty" ended Trapattoni.
