A player was arrested in connection with the scandal of match fixing that shook the Norwegian football earlier this week, Reuters reported.
"The Police detained a player from the team of Folyo in connection with the investigation for manipulating the results of football matches," said the official release of the Norwegian Football Federation, without specifying the identity of the player.
The prosecutors initiated an investigation of two meetings of the third division, played on June 24. The doubts are that the victory of Ostsiden over Folyo from 0:3 to 4:3, and the success of Asker over Frigg with 7:1, are fixed.
Folyo club also launched an internal investigation of the match on suspicion of manipulation.
The football Federation of European countries, took an unprecedented decision earlier this week to cancel the second division match between Ulensaker Kish and Ham Kam because of suspicion that the meeting was previously manipulated result.
