Official: Tottenham attract Jan Vertongen 12.07.2012

Tottenham announced the transfer of the defender Ian Vertongen of Ajax. The Belgian international has been linked with a move to "White Hart Lane" for several months, but the deal was before failure due the requirements of the defender for part of the transfer fee.

25-year-Vertongen make 31 games as captain of Ajax last season, in which scored 8 goals and help the team to win the league.

The Belgian successfully passed the medical examination, then signed his contract. It is not yet known how long is it and what is the transfer fee, which Ajax will receive.

Vertongen is the second transfer to the new manager Andre Villa-Boash after that of Gilfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim.
