Chelsea management confirmed that the club has signed with the Brazilian National Oscar after grueling negotiations.
The European champions, that is currently on tour in the U.S. has not revealed details of the transfer of 20-year-old talent from Internacional. The media in Britain suggested that for the midfielder are paid about 25 million pounds.
"Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the transfer of Oscar," reads a statement on the club website.
Tottenham also chased the young playmaker, but Oscar himself publicly voiced his partiality to "the blues." "If I go to Chelsea, it would be a dream come true," he said then. "They are among the greatest clubs in Europe. I am confident that I will do a good Olympics, and if it happens to be at Chelsea I will arrive with a good feeling. "
Oscar is now in London, where he prepares for the Olympic football tournament with the team of his country.
