Reims allowed loss in his first game in the elite for 33 years

Novice Reims lost with 0:1 from the visiting Marseille in his first game in the French elite football after 33 years absence. Benoa Sheyru celebrated the only goal in the 77th minute in the last meeting of the first round of the championship.

Sheyru detect aerial cross from the right of Charles Kabore and brought deserved success of the guests who dominated the second half. Reims has six titles in France in the period 1949-1962 year, and two finals in the Cup of European Champions, but after falling in 1979 the team until the end of last season once again managed to win promotion for first division.

Marseille's victory did give a successful debut for the new head coach Eli Bopp, who replaced Didier Deschamps. Deschamps left the club after three seasons to take over the national team of France.
