Own Goal gave minimum advance for Liverpool against Hearts

24.08.2012

Liverpool took the lead from just one goal in their playoff game against Hearts in the Europa League after 1:0 during their visit to Edinburgh. The only goal in the game fell from an own goal, but anyway gave an advance to the "reds" before the second leg at "Anfield".

Fabio Borriello was particularly active for Liverpool, as he missed several opportunities to bring a solid lead for his team. In an own goal, Borini failed to detect cross from Martin Kelly and the ball deflect into Andy Webster in his net.

This happened in the 78 th minute, and before that, again Borini didn't realize the purest position for Liverpool. He was removed from Raheem Sterling alone against Hearts goalkeeper but hit the crossbar.

Hearts had a chance to reach equality in the last ten minutes, but Pepe Reina surely deflect the blows of Andrew Driver and Calum Paterson.
