For the first time in this century: Italy with only two teams in the Champions League

For the first time in this century Italy will have only two teams participating in the group stage of the Champions League.

In urns of the draw for the Champions League groups from 18:45 today will be only two teams from Serie A - the champion Juventus and vice-champion Milan after the third of the past Udeneze tournament eliminated on penalties by Braga on Tuesday in the playoffs.

The last time Italy was with only two members in the Champions League season 1998/1999, as this was Juventus and Inter Milan, and participated in a tournament total of 24 teams.

From season 1999/2000, when in Champions League started to participate 32 teams, so far Calcio always had 3 or 4 teams in the group, but after 13 years this trend has been suspended.
