Official: Michael Owen is player of Stoke City 5.09.2012

The former England international Michael Owen signed for one year with Stoke City. The contract must be approved by the Board of the Premier League. Owen was a free agent after the Manchester United release him at the end of last season.

Owen is looking for new team all summer, but only after the closure of the transfer window in the UK find one.

The striker admitted that he received many offers from other European countries, but his greatest desire was to remain in the Premier League. He has tried his luck in Spain with Real Madrid team during the 2004-05 season, but without much success. After his return to England he played for Newcastle and Manchester United.
