Gibraltar admitted as provisional UEFA member 2.10.2012

At the meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in St. Petersburg for temporary member of UEFA was accepted Gibraltar.

The final decision on whether Gibraltar will become the 54th EU member state of UEFA will be taken at the UEFA Congress in May 2013 in London.

Gibraltar is a small country with a population of 28,000 and dispute over its sovereignty leads Spain and Britain.

The international Court of Arbitration impose to UEFA to consider adoption of Gibraltar as a member of UEFA.
