FIFA punishes Sudan, took their victory over Zambia 9.10.2012

The global Football Federation punished Sudan and deprive the team from 2:0 win over Zambia in World Cup qualifying in the African Zone for the World Cup 2014.

FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided that Saif Ali has played unlawfully in the match on June 2 in Khartoum and awarded walkover victory of Zambia 3:0.

Furthermore, the FA of Sudan will have to pay a fine of 6,000 Swiss francs.

Following that decision Zambia topped the ranking in Group D with six points from two games, while Sudan dropped to third place with one point. Ghana has three points while Lesotho is last only with point so far.

Zambia team filed contestations that FIFA upheld that Ali has no right to play because of accumulated yellow cards.
