Southampton footballer rookie - Gaston Ramirez will be sidelined for around six weeks after receiving the thigh muscle injury during exercise.
The 21Â years old Uruguay international missed Saturday's draw 2:2 with Fulham in the Premier League.
Ramirez, who joined the team from Bologna with record for the club transfer of nearly 30 million dollars, will not play in the next four games of Southampton - against West Ham United, Tottenham, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea.
The midfielder dropped out and from the composition of Uruguay for World Cup qualifiers against Argentina and Bolivia.
Ramirez has three appearances for Southampton this season and scored in the 1:3 defeat from Everton at the end of September.
Southampton is 17th in the standings in the Premier League at the moment with one win, one draw and five losses in the first seven rounds.
