Borussia Dortmund soccer player Marcel Shmeltser won't be punished, although he received a red card in the match against Wolfsburg.
The German international was sent off undeserved from the referee Wolfgang Stark for nonexistent playing with a hand in the penalty box. The referee gave red card to Shmeltser and also gave a penalty kick for Wolfsburg, which largely predetermine the outcome of the match ended 3:2 for "The Wolves."
After the match, however, Stark admitted his mistake and apologized to Shmeltser that led to the cancellation of the otherwise mandatory sentence.
"Basically, the sending off of a player triggers automatic penalty of at least one match. The only exception: when the expulsion is based on clear and indisputable error of the judge, "the statement said of the Disciplinary Committee of the German Football Association.
