Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has agreed on new one-year contract with the club, inform the media in Britain. Formal agreement will be announced after the final of the Europa League. Tonight Chelsea will face Benfica in a battle for the trophy.
The current contract of Lampard with Chelsea expires at the end of the season. Over the past two seasons footballer tried to negotiate with the club for another, but the financial demands of the player not suited leadership team.
At the end of 2012 Lampard has made it clear that he will leave the team, although he did not want to take that step. In winter, there were reports that the midfielder has reached agreement to move to Los Angeles Galaxy.
According to The Telegraph, for keeping Frank Lampard to "Stamford Bridge" had insisted Jose Mourinho, who is expected to return to the club in the summer. The Portuguese professional considered the player as a symbol of Chelsea with John Terry, Petr Cech and Ashley Cole.
