The greatest scorer in the history of the Spanish national team David Villa retired.

He says goodbye to "La Roja Fury 'with a goal in the 3:0 win against Australia in the final game for Spain in the World Cup in Brazil.

David Villa's top scorer for Spain with 59 goals in 97 matches.

His debut with the national team is on 9th February 2005 against San Marino.

Villa is the Spanish player with the most goals in the World Cup - and 9 with the most hits in finals - 18.

David Villa was with major contribution to the three titles won by Spain in the last six years.

He scored a hat-trick of Russia in the first match of Euro 2008. Villa ranked Spain for the second phase of the competition with the winning goal in the second match of Spain in the European Championship in Austria and Switzerland.

In the World Cup in South Africa, he scored twice in the door of Honduras and scored the first goal against Chile. Furthermore scored to Portugal and Paraguay on the second round and quarterfinals of the World Cup in 2010.
