Former head of United aim to a post in FIFA

David Gill, the former chief executive of Manchester United, plans to run for vice president of FIFA. This was announced himself to the British media today.

Currently, 57-year-old Gill is a member of the UEFA Executive Committee. But he plans to run during the congress of FIFA, which will be held in March 2015 in Vienna.

As is known, the European Football Association has the right to own vice president of FIFA, proposed by it. And David Gill just hope he to be the selection of its members.

According to the reforms that are being prepared in UEFA's . the 53 member states will vote for their candidate who will be proposed by the quota of four British nations.

English FA will nominate Gill, and if he is elected, he will replace Jim Boyce from Northern Ireland, who will step down in May of the FIFA Congress in Zurich. Gill is dealing with officialdom in the European football governing body, having retired together with Sir Alex Ferguson from United.
