The billionaire Hop took full control over Hoffenheim

Dietmar Hop officially took control of the Club from the German Bundesliga Hoffenheim.
Hop, who for 25 years was the primary investor in the small Club from Baden-Württemberg, has so far had the right to own up to 49% of the shares, but after changes in the regulations of the German recently Football Federation he has gained the right to take a controlling stake.

In Germany only the big companies such as Volkswagen (Wolfsburg) and Bayer (Leverkusen) had the right to 50% + 1 of the shares. Modification of this rule already allows private investors to have over 50% of the shares, while retaining the requirement that they supported the Club, at least in the last 20 years.

the 74-year-old hop, which is a s″osnovvatel of the software company SAP, invest in Hoffenheim in other clubs from the region from 1989 onwards. During this period he gave over 350 million euros for the players, training centers, improving the stadium, as well as the infrastructure around it. In 2007 the Club, which has always played in regional leagues, entered for the first time in their history in the top echelon.

Following the decision of the Board of Directors of Hoffenheim to give full control of the Hop, the Club became the first in Germany, which will have the sole owner. It is expected that the second such team to be Hanover, but it will happen soon in 2018, when Martin Kind will reach the required 20 years investment in the Club.
