The players of the Argentinian Grand River Plate have spent the last training days in hyperbaric cameras, instead of on the football field.
Hiperbarnite cameras are vessels, in which patients breathe 100 percent oxygen, to adapt the body to greater pressures than normal atmospheric pressure.
The reason for the unusual step, which undertook the coach of river, Marcelo Gallardo, is the impending visit of the team in Bolivia for the match from the first round of the group stage of the Copa Libertadores with a local San Jose.
The meeting will be played in the mining city of Oruro, which is 3,300 meters above sea level. Because of its high location in the Andes, the Bolivian teams often have a serious advantage against teams coming from the lower eastern part of South America. The lack of sufficient oxygen, high up in the mountains is often a serious problem for the visiting teams as the exam back personally, Diego Maradona in 2009, when the result of Argentina national team lost with disastrous 1:6 in his visit to Bolivia.
