Schurrle: Compared to Chelsea, Wolfsburg is a step forward

18.02.2015

Andre Schurrle thinks the transfer from Chelsea in Wolfsburg as a step back in his career, even on the contrary – the German national believes that his path continues in ascending line.
The former Bayer Leverkusen ACE spent 18 months at Stamford Bridge, in which he never managed to establish itself as the holder. So in January he grabbed his chance with the offer of "Wolves", and with the money from his transfer to Chelsea on Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina.
'I'm a fan of Chelsea and there since I was a child I felt on the spot until the last day. Most importantly, however, is to play football and enjoy, and it had already ceased to be such.', commented Schurrle.
'Wolfsburg may be a smaller Club, when you pay attention to reputation. I thought long and pretty on it. I could have stayed at Chelsea, Mourinho said he would get his chance.'
'I had to make a decision. In the end, I just want to play football. Germany coach Joachim Loew told me that this would be a great pick for me. He told me that Wolfsburg step forward.'
'Wolfsburg is a great team and can fight for trophies in the Bundesliga and in Europe.' added the world champion of the World Cup 2014.
