The coach of Fiorentina Vincenzo Montella has revealed how his team managed to reach the late equalizer in the 1:1 draw with Dynamo Kiev in the first quarterfinal match between the two teams in the Europa League.
Kuma Babacar saved the Italians of losing in Ukraine, gave them some advantage over the second leg because of the goals of a foreign terrain.
'I liked how game the team with hunger and perseverance. We created so many positions.', said Montella.
'I think it was important that a tie because we did it with their main characteristics – speed, technique, pride and sacrifice. I would be very angry if we had lost, but we never stopped believing. The goal, which made was rather casual and fell after a ricochet.'
'At half-time the players were angrier than me. I tried to calm them down, get them to the patience with which to improvise. You shouldn't have to play fast or too torn on the pitch.', added the coach.
