Mesut Ozil from Arsenal obtained once again a huge recognition in Germany. He was elected the footballer of the year in the country, as it is defined after the vote of the fans.
The playmaker received 28.5% of the vote or more than 51 000 votes. Far back left Thomas Mueller of Bayern Munich, for whom he voted only 15.9%. The top 3 in the poll closes by Jonas Hector with 13.6%.
This is the fourth award for Ozil for the past five years. After triumph three times in a row in the poll, only last year ceded the honour of Toni Kroos from Real Madrid to be number one, but be back on top again.
In the past year performance was phenomenal. Only since the beginning of this season, he has made 16 assists and has created a total of 87 scoring situations for the team, making it the most dangerous player in all major leagues of Europe.
