Weidenfeller has signed a new contract with Dortmund

The goalkeeper Weidenfeller continued his contract with Bundesliga team Borussia Dortmund for a further year and will remain at the club until 2017, even though there is no incumbent. The 35-year-old guard, who was on the team since 2002, has announced that he wants to leave the German team.
The Sporting director of Borussia, Michael Cork said that Weidenfeller is 'an important part of the team'. The player was a backup goalkeeper of Germany of World Cup 2014 in Brazil when the guys of Joachim Loew won the title. He lost the titular place for fights in the Bundesliga at the expense of Roman Burki, but played in all matches of Borussia in the Europa League tournament.
