Klopp protected Benteke

11.02.2016

The manager of Liverpool, Juergen Klopp, defended his attacker Christian Benteke, who has been blamed for dropping the 'Red' from the tournament for the Cup of England. Last night the team from Anfield was removed from West Ham, as the Hammers won the replay at 'Boleyn Ground' with a goal in the last minute of the second sequel.
The Belgian striker missed some great opportunities for a goal, as the three of them came in the injury time of the match. Benteke still has no deal for Liverpool in 2016.
'I don't believe that there are easy goals. He should continue to play this way. Really he is not in the best period of his career, but he has to work hard. Benteke wants to score, and we want the same thing. In the coming days, weeks and months we will be working on this.', Klopp commented after the match.
Benteke has had only seven goals in 30 appearances for the Reds since last summer, when he went to Anfield with a transfer to 32.5 million pounds.
