Alvaro Recoba officially stopped with football

1.04.2016

The former star of Inter, Alvaro Recoba, officially terminated his football career. He has not played since 2015 onwards, but until now refused to put an end to his days as a player.
The 40-year-old striker will quit after a friendly match tonight, which will be played in front of other notable figures of the Nerazzurri as Francesco Toldo and Javier Zanetti.
During his stay in Milan, Recoba was the favorite of the club boss Massimo Moratti, like a quick win and the fans with his impressive goals. Able to play as a point guard, he collected direct free kicks in a remarkable way, and for a short period of time was the most highly paid footballer on the planet.
His career for Inter ended with 175 matches and 54 hits, and then Recoba had a short stay in Turin, before to return to Uruguay to carry teams Danubio and Nacional.
As a player of the Nerazzurri, he won three times in Serie A the title, Italy Cup twice and the UEFA Cup once.
