The former prisoner Uli Arnold will travel with Bayern for the second leg against Benfica

The former President of Bayern (Munich) Uli Arnold will travel with the team for the meeting rematch of the quarterfinals of the Champions League against Benfica in Lisbon. The news was confirmed by Sporting Director Matthias Sammer.
'This is great for Bayern. Uli Arnold is a part of the club and his presence there indicates the strength and unity that Bayern expressed.', said Sammer. The last time Arnold viewed a match of the German team in the Champions League visit of 10 February 2014 when Bayern won with 2:0 against Arsenal in London. The meeting between Benfica and Bayern Munich was on Wednesday.
Last week, the Bavarians won as the hosts with 1:0. The 64-year-old Arnold was convicted in Munich in March 2014 because of tax abuse amounting to 28.5 million. He went to prison three months later. At the end of February this year Arnold had been released from prison after having run half of his sentence.
