Barca has a record revenue

5.07.2016

Barcelona announced a record revenue for the past season 2015/16, which gives the President Josep Maria Bartomeu some optimism that the stars will remain at the club. The champion of Spain in three of the last four seasons got 670 million euros for the past financial year and reduced its debt by 40 million euros.
'There is no need to sell players to pay debts. That's why we want to find other sources of finance, to make Barcelona a global club, which in the long run will bring us income.', Bartomeu said.
'We have a strategy to increase the revenue to keep our best players and be competitive to the other top clubs. We need to renew the contracts of Messi and Mascherano, as well as many other players, who want to remain at the club.', Bartomeu said.
In terms of financial performance, Bartomeu said: 'The audit showed record earnings of 670 million euros. It is 62 million more than last year. We reduced the debt by 40 million and now we have obligations in the amount of 280 million euros.'
