Barca wants to retain Messi for the rest of his career 5.07.2016

The President of Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu, admitted that the purpose of the Catalans to keep Lionel Messi with a new treaty by the end of his career.
Bartomeu meanwhile said that Barcelona will comply with any decision on Messi about the national team of Argentina.
'Our wish is Messi to play in Barcelona until the end of his career. After the return and start training, we will think about the extension of his contract. There are still two years until the end of his current contract.', said Bartomeu.
'We do not hide our desire to put him with a new long-term contract. Messi is a very discreet person and he has our full support.', added the President of Barcelona.
'There is no need to sell players to pay our debts.', said Josep Maria Bartomeu.
