The record-breaking scorer Miroslav Klose of Germany will return to the national team but as a part of the coaching staff of Joachim Loew.
Klose will stand on guard for more world qualification with San Marino on 11 November and the control game with Italy four days later in Milan.
The former quarterback will continue and for the matches with England and Azerbaijan in March 2017, as well as in the tournament for the Confederations Cup, which will be held next year, also in Russia. The deal has not been confirmed yet.
The 38-year-old Klose, who has 71 goals in 137 appearances for the national team of Germany, dropped from the national team after the World Cup in 2014 in Brazil.
His contract with Lazio has been over since the summer.
While still playing, he announced as a part of his future plans, namely options to start as a coach.
