The former head of FIFA from Guam pleaded guilty on charges of corruption in court in New York, police said authorities in the United States.
Richard Lai, the former member of the Audit Committee in the global football organization pleaded guilty about 'links in corruption schemes when they were paid bribes to leaders'.
The 55-year-old citizen of the United States Lai is the President of the Football Association of Guam. He has accepted a bribe of 100 thousand dollars, to vote a certain way on the election of the football confederation of Asia in 2011. Richard Lai has taken other 850 thousand dollars as bribes for various activities on the territory of Asia.
Guam is a possession of the United States. It is the largest of the Mariana Islands in the Western Pacific.
