Koeman thinks the lost game against Atalanta is a wake-up call for Everton

16.09.2017

Ronald Koeman believes that the defeat of Everton with 0:3 against the Italian Atalanta in the group stage of the Europa League could work as a wake-up call for the football players by the English team. The Dutch manager talked before the upcoming visit on Sunday against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
'We have a point less than this time last season from the same matches against Chelsea, Manchester City, and Tottenham. Last night was a wake-up call. I am troubled by what I saw yesterday, I am not worried about our performance in the defeat against Chelsea (0:2). The loss against Tottenham with 0:3 and the first half against Atalanta are serious causes for a concern. I will have a meeting with the main players in the squad. It is time for experienced players to step into the role.', said Koeman. Everton occupies the 16th place in the standings in the Premier League with an asset of only 4 points.
