Nadal started out as a champion 20.06.2011

World No. 1 Rafael Nadal began with an easy win title defense of his Wimbledon. In the first round match of the Spaniard won with 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 over Michael Russell (USA). The match was first on Centre Court this year and the first ever between the two.

Veteran U.S. started strong and surprising first sample which lead to 4-2. By the end of the set but Nadal picked up speed and showed who is the champion. In the second and third set gave Nadal an open lecture on his opponent and in no way questioned the clean victory.

The victory was the 15th straight for Nadal at Wimbledon. In a second round 25-year-old Spaniard will face the winner of the match Pablo Anduhar (Spain) - Suiting Ryan (USA).
