Bulgaria fell into a third group of Europe-Africa zone after the country's 3-1 loss in Cyprus in Davis Cup playoffs.

In the decisive match of Cyprus defeated country after Marcos Baghdatis managed to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-7, 5-7 Bulgarian player Dimitar Kutrovski. The match was played more than three hours in which the rocket in Bulgaria showed decent skills and talents in a duel with world number 24 Baghdatis. Bulgaria has one more meeting with Cyprus, but the general result is not decisive.

From next year our country will fight with Andorra, San Marino, Albania, Norway, Armenia, Georgia, Iceland, Macedonia, Montenegro, Lithuania, Greece and Malta. Teams are divided into four groups and play a "round robin".
