Former world No 1 Roger Federer wants to play alongside Martina Hingis in mixed doubles at the Olympic Games in London.

First, however, the Fed will have to persuade the fellow to return to court. In 2007, a 30-year-old Hingis end his racing career. In her career she has won five Grand Slam titles.

"She was an exceptional player. Although retired from tennis, she can at least consider that possibility," said 30-year-old Federer.

Federer men stated that has not yet spoken with Hingis, since he has not decided whether to participate in singles, doubles and mixed doubles in London.

"My decision to a large extent may depend on Martina. Ultimately it is the holidays and will have to work hard to return to the game," said Federer, who won the Olympic doubles title with his sanadornika Stanislas Wawrinka in Beijing in 2008.
