Ryan Nugent-Hopkins from Edmonton and Jamie Ben from Dallas scored two goals for victory of Canada with 7:2 over France in a match of Group A of the elite division of World Championship Ice Hockey.

The Canadians took the lead with four washers for only 18 minutes, which provide them with second win from three matches in the competition. Nugent-Hopkins opened after 1:59 minutes in the first third, then added one washer and an assist for his team.

Patrick Sharp from Chicago scored a goal and four assists, while Ben scored two goals and passed for one more. Jordan Ebarli of Edmonton and Corey Perry of Anaheim scored the other washers for Canada.

The victory climb the "maple leaf" in the first place ranking in the group with a total of seven points. Switzerland is in second place, and in the top four falls more Finland and the USA.

Sweden topped the single the classification in Group B after beating Denmark with 6:4. Tre Kronur are with a total of nine points and led three against the second Russia, which has a match less. Czech Republic and Germany were third and fourth.
