The American women solidified a reputation as one of the favorites in the women's football tournament at the Olympic games and recorded an impressive victory over France with 4:2 in their first match. The European women were able to pull with 2:0 at the beginning of the meeting, but with four unanswered goals the graduates of Pia Sandidzh left no doubt who is better in the meeting.
