Del Piero cause serious interest in Australia 21.09.2012

Alessandro Del Piero caused considerable interest among the football fans in Australia.

The Italian star signed a contract with Sydney FC and will debut in the league on 6 October at the visit of Phoenix in Wellington.

The tickets for the game went on sale this morning, and demand gaps is very high.

"We've sold 10 times more tickets than usual for such a short period. If the things continue this way, I expect a really large attendance," explained David Dome, the general manager of Phoenix.

Wellington Stadium, which has a capacity for 34,000 spectators, has never been a full for meeting of the Australian Football League.

"I do not want to talk about the sale of all white, but certainly expect significant number of fans of the game," said Dome.
