Panathinaikos showed surprisingly the door of the Greek national Costas Katsouranis. The 33Â years old will not fulfill his contract, which was to end of the season, but instead will left the club now.
One day before the match against Tottenham in the Europa League, the Greek giants announced that they fired Katsouranis, who has 97 games and 9 goals in Greece and the biggest moment in his career was the European championship title in Portugal in 2004.
The reason for the dismissal was the bad relations between Katsouranis and Portuguese coach Pao Zhesualdo Ferreira, who apparently escalated after the poor start of the season for the team. After five rounds, Panathinaikos has only 4 points and only one win. In the Europa League does the Greeks lost with 0:3 from Maribor and from the management clearly wants to signal to the players with the expulsion of the veteran.
