Lionel Messi receives the Golden Boot for the record 50 goals in one season 29.10.2012

The striker of Barcelona and Argentinian national team, Lionel Messi received the award Golden Boot for top scorer in Europe for season 2011/2012.

Messi won the prize with his record 50 goals in La Liga in one season. The Argentinean received the award today in Barcelona by Luis Suarez - winner of the Ballon d'Or for 1960 and European champion with Spain in 1964.

"The award is for the entire team of Barcelona, because without my teammates I would not score all these goals," Messi said after the ceremony.

This is the second golden boot for Messi after the 2009/2010 season when scoring 34 goals. The Golden Boot Award is given by 1967 as the first winner is Eusebio.
