A Chelsea fan group has condemned the homophobic chants of Nottingham fans during an Premier League match.

(rent boys - a homophobic chant chanted by some fans of Chelsea`s rival clubs - approx. )


The Chelsea Pride supporter group found this behavior unacceptable.


We strongly condemn the chants that could be heard at the City Ground. The game was broadcast live on Sky Sports, and such behavior is now classified as a hate crime.


The group`s statement was also supported by Pride In Football and LGBT fan group Nottingham Forest Trickies.


Please accept our apologies on behalf of all true Nottingham Forest fans. We hope the police will take action and we also hope the club will issue a statement condemning this and take the necessary action. We are ashamed, " Trickies said.


Nottingham Forest later released an official statement regarding the incident.


The club is aware of the chants towards Chelsea fans by some of our supporters and does not condone any discriminatory or offensive behaviour. The matter will be investigated, " the club said in a statement.
