 | | Marotta is divided with Juventus2.11.2018 |
Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta is splitting up with the club. He personally reported the news to the Italian media after the bianconer and Napoli (3:1) yesterday. It was an incredible eight years, and Juventus will forever stay in my heart. I wanted to report the news personally because Monday`s list of club directors will be announced and my name will not be there. I figured it was better before a lot of speculation began. The club owners thought it was time for change. The end of my mandate is 25 October and it will not be renewed. For now, I remain the director, but just how long, will the bosses judge, `said Marotta. He hastened to deny the rumors that he plans to run for president of the Italian Football Federation. I can categorically deny this information. Being President of the Federation is not something that appeals to me in particular. I will explain everything in detail at a later stage, but at the moment I just wanted to announce the news of the separation first. This is a very emotional moment and I will never forget what Juventus meant to me, `said Marotta.
A little later the news was confirmed by Juventus with an official announcement. Marotta had a key role to revive the Old Lady in recent years. He was a major part of the team that led the club to seven consecutive titles of Italy. Now he will be very curious about where he will continue his career, with Manchester United and Barcelona already talking about interest in him.
