A former Manchester United player has ended the Red Devils series

2.11.2019

Bournemouth achieved their first win since September, after beating Vitality by 1-0 against Manchester United. Former Red Devils player Joshua King scored the only goal in the 45th minute and put an end to a good series of three consecutive United victories as a guest in all tournaments. The Czechs deservedly took the three points, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer`s team played a weak game and only in the last 10 minutes did he bravely attack. The beam, however, stopped the guests after a strike by Mason Greenwood.

One change had been made by Eddie Howe. Harry Wilson is back among the holders at the expense of Arno Grooneveld. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer yesterday claimed that Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelloff and Marcus Rushford could miss the match because of injuries sustained in the match against Chelsea this week. However, all three were holders. Manchester United started with the same lineup as in the match against Norwich a week ago.

In the first 10 minutes, guests started better under the pouring rain of Vitality. Daniel James made some good breakthroughs on the right, but Pereira, Fred and Marsial failed to deliver the final blows. A good period followed for Bournemouth, but also without great danger at De Gea`s door. In the 16th minute, Fraser fell into the penalty box after a fight with Young and demanded a penalty. However, the signal did not follow, and the home player had previously touched the ball with his hand. VAR correctly did not interfere either.

In the 21st minute James fired a solid shot from the boundary of the penalty area, but the ball went away from the target. Bournemouth organized a good attack in the 27th minute when Fraser got a good pass, but rushed in with a shot and sent the ball straight into De Gea`s hands. It was the first accurate shot of the Cherries in today`s match. About ten minutes before the break, Martial fell into the penalty area and demanded a penalty. There was no offense and Lerma and Cook attacked the Frenchman for his simulation. There was a commotion and the players started pulling and pushing, but it ended with yellow cards for Lerma and Fred.

At the very end of that equivalent half, Bournemouth discovered the result. King did very well after centering Smith on the right, elegantly flipping the ball behind his back in front of Lindeloff and Wang-Bissaka`s eyes, turning and firing from the air. The ball passed between the legs of De Gea - 1:0. This was the first goal for the Cherries in 358 minutes. Bournemouth got off to a better start in the second half. Fraser`s air strike went straight into De Gea`s hands, and then Harry Wilson missed the final pass with a nice home run. In the 57th minute, United made their second straight shot of the match. Pereira did it, but Ramsdale beat him. After 63 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Harry Wilson might have resulted in another goal for De Gea. 1/4 hour before the end, De Gea saved United from the second goal after striking a very dangerous land shot on Harry Wilson from the penalty area.

In the 81st minute, a shot from the Mason Greenwood Reserve met the beam, and shortly thereafter, Ramsdale rescued a rather dangerous shot of Mactominius. These were also the best opportunities for Manchester United.
