Golden State interrupts seven-game losing streak in Memphis

20.11.2019

Shaken by personnel issues from injury, Vice Champion Golden State interrupted a series of seven consecutive losses after 114-95 in Memphis Hall. Success was gained by the strong play of the Warriors in the second quarter, in which they completely dominated the Grizzlies, recording 33 points against only 16 opponents. The visitors retired at halftime with a 15-point lead (61-46), which Memphis failed to clear even though it was better in the third quarter (26:22). Golden State finished off the final stretch to seal its third win of the season.

Interestingly, neither Steve Curry nor Clay Thompson or phenomenal rookie Eric Pashal led the wars on the road to success. This time, the lead roles were played by Alec Burks, who scored a season-high 29 points, and Glen Robinson III, added 20. One of the most impressive on the field was Marquez Chris, who played his best game for Golden State with 17 points. 6 fights and 4 blocks. Draymond Green was close to 24th triple-double in his career, finishing with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

Newcomer Ja Morrant scored 20 points to host. Despite his success, Golden State remains the last in the League with only three wins in 15 games. The Warriors will not have much time to celebrate the long-awaited victory as they head to Dallas to challenge rising star Luka Doncic.
