FIA is studying the introduction of f-1 wheel arches in the rain to improve visibility 4.01.2023

The FIA is investigating how visibility in rainy conditions can be improved with new details.

The federation notes that a large amount of spray from new generation Formula 1 cars leads to the fact that sessions have to be postponed or interrupted with red flags.

The study focuses on new details, namely the wheel arches, which should reduce the level of spray. They are supposed to be fixed only in case of conditions corresponding to the use of rain tires - before races or under red flags. The first concept was presented at the meeting of the FIA Commission, the Federation will continue to work on proposals.
