Pulis on Gnabry: At West Brom he wasn`t even close to Bayern. He was sent to the second team 13.07.2024

Tony Pulis spoke about why Serge Gnabry did not open up in the Premier League.

I always get blamed for this, but people forget that we had him [at West Brom] on loan. Before that he was at Arsenal and Wenger was his manager, who eventually sold him to Werder Bremen for £7 million. He trained him from the age of 14, and Serge was on loan to us for only a couple of months.

He`s playing great now, I take my hat off to him, but at the time he wasn`t even close to that level. He was sent to the second team.

Now he`s doing big things. I remember how I called Kempy (Dave Kemp, ex-assistant of Pulis - approx. ), informing him about Gnabry`s transfer to Bayern. “Campy said it must be his twin brother, it couldn’t be the player we had, ” the ex-West Brom manager said.
