 | | Tom Brady: NFL Quarterbacks Are Getting Worse23.07.2024 |
Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady weighed in on the NFL`s quarterbacks in recent years.
I think quarterbacks in today`s NFL have taken a step back. There is no talk of improvement. It may be getting better from a physical standpoint, but quarterbacks are no longer the generals on the field that they used to be.
Of course, this is a generalization. But now I had complete control. I had all the necessary leverage. That`s how I was taught. No matter what happened, I had the right play, the right formation, options for changing the combination, and so on.
And now coaches on the sideline want to control everything. They don`t teach young players properly, don`t give them all the leverage. I always looked up to Peyton Manning because he had absolute control. In that sense, the game has regressed, if you look at what`s happening in high school football, college football, and through them in the NFL, Brady said.
Brady retired last February. Last week he was inducted into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame.
